One of the foremost wine authorities of his generation, Bryce Wiatrak comes to Booth following a successful career as a leading wine journalist and critic. His work has been published in every major American wine journal, including Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Wine & Spirits Magazine, and Antonio Galloni’s Vinous. He has served as a Staff Writer at the scholarly trade publication and wine education non-profit GuildSomm, and frequently contributes to the San Francisco Chronicle. Most recently, Bryce has accepted his first assignments for the Chicago Tribune, to be published in February 2022. A Certified Sommelier, Bryce is also a candidate for the Master of Wine title, the most prestigious certification for the wine trade, with just over 400 global members since its inception in the 1950s.

Bryce’s MBA studies combined with his profound domain expertise uniquely position him to lead this venture. His reporting has taken him to the most remote corners of the wine world, from Hungary to Lebanon to Uruguay. Bryce knows where to find wine’s greatest hidden gems and how to champion their stories.

In her position as COO, Emily leverages over seven years of wine industry experience, beginning in public relations for several of Napa Valley’s most pedigreed estates. She most recently served as GuildSomm’s Director of Partnerships, collaborating with wine region marketing bodies to drive profit through sponsored programming. Emily planned more than 100 annual wine events for GuildSomm prior to the pandemic and oversees all of Flights’ event operations.
Her new media expertise—producing video, e-learning courses, and spearheading the GuildSomm podcast, for which new episodes consistently reach the Top 10 food podcasts on iTunes—is invaluable to generating Flights’ digital content and marketing materials. Emily is also a passionate student of wine, earning her Wine and Spirits Education Trust Level III credential with distinction.
