We’re Bryce and Emily, and we’ve spent the past decade drinking very well.

We met in San Francisco early on in our wine careers and our friendship quickly blossomed over a mutual adoration of the wine world’s abundance and the way wine turns strangers into friends. We soon realized there was something magical about being transported across the globe through the simple act of sharing a bottle of wine and its story. And thus Vinalia was born!

I’m Bryce, and I’ve spent my career as wine journalist traveling the globe in search of the best wines with fascinating stories behind them. I’ve reported on historic and emerging wine regions for every major wine publication: Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Wine & Spirits, Vinous. I have fallen in love countless times along the way—with the places, the cuisine, and, of course, the wines and people who make them.

I’m Emily, and my love affair with wine began while working at a family wine shop in Spain. When I came home to the US, I began a career as a wine publicist and spent years working to educate America’s sommeliers about the joys and complexities of every major wine region of the world. It soon became clear that my favorite wines were often from regions and grapes I’d never heard of and didn’t have to be expensive, either.

We at Vinalia believe that the full diversity of the wine world is worth discovering. We love Cabernet and Pinot as much as the next person, but we know that Xinomavro, Obeideh, Vamvakada, and Timorasso all deserve a place at your table, too. We’ve scoured the globe to find the hidden gems of the wine world, made by fantastic people eager to share their life’s work with you. We can’t wait to share their stories with you.
